Do you still believe Muzaffarnagar riot was not a fixed game ? I and most will surprise if you say no.
And this is the pathetic story of India; alike the self serving politicians, the intelligentsia also remains in denial mode, afraid of speaking the truth in open. Additional Director General (law and order) Arun Kumar has written to the state government asking to be relieved of his duties so that he could work on deputation with the union government.
ADG Arun Kumar, considered to be an upright officer, is said to be upset for not getting a free hand to do his work and facing constant political interference.This was strongly established in the disclosures made in the sting operation made by the media. The decision by the senior police official, who was sent to Muzaffarnagar to probe the riots and bring the guilty to book, is seen as a severe embarrassment to the state government, reminds confirmation of Azam Khan's role in allowing violence on minority so as to polarise them to him and his party.
Now the BJP is changing its strategy since it does not want to send a message that its MLAs were either on the run or defying rule of law and opting to surrender the warranted leaders Sangeet Som, the youngest BJP MLA who has been charged with uploading a controversial video on Face book to ignite communal riots, Kunwar Bhartendu Singh and Suresh Rana, who have been charged of making provocative speeches at Mahapanchayat, could also surrender.
Uma Bharti has asked them to “volunteer their arrest”.She said, “Yesterday also, the MLAs were ready for arrest. They have committed no wrong and as such there was no reason why they should fear arrest. The only problem is that Samajwadi government has been targeting a particular community and a particular party, and is trying to implicate them in false cases,.” but showed her surprise that, “It is not acceptable to me that when the person (Azam Khan) who sits next to him (Akhilesh Yadav) too has come under shadow of suspicion, he is not even being investigated, MLAs belonging to my party should be booked under NSA on a most flimsy pretext. I too was volunteering my arrest, so were my other 48 MLAs. A clueless government should be ready to face the consequences for its misadventure”,.
According to several reports, there is every indication that the Muzaffarnagar conflagration was a “made-to-order riot” aimed at polarising the electorate along religious lines. This would engineer the precipitation of the BJP and the Samajwadi Party’s core vote banks around the majority and minority religious identities respectively. (one could not justify; whom to name first BJP or SP : most had practised as an habit to blame BJP first )
Even if one agrees with the above theory, do anyone among the political analyst, columnist, intelligentsia, social activist have the guts to speak the truth in open, no ?
Most will take excuse of no proof or absence of information, but still they can identify the communal among the so called secular lot, because they treat themselves as modern and non fundamentalist,or only because they are so much secured that may not have to face what the forty thousand displaced villagers living in Muzaffarnagar camps have to or the displaced Khasmiri Pandits had to for so many years. Instead of blaming one should accept that BJP’s PM aspirant Modi stands only for "Development" .
