UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav adamant, arrogant and biased handling of, what could have been a "minor incident" of molestation of two girls of one community by the members of other community members",but that sparked into a full fledged riot spread to much bigger area and resulted in of hundreds of deaths and injuries. It is sheer novices and arrogance of ruling power and that clubbed with favouritism showoff, has made Akhilesh Yadav led Samajwadi party government blunt enough to play with fire by hiding the blunder in handling of an communally tense incident by a mob led by minority community. And again by terming the Muzaffarnagar riots as a political conspiracy to destabilise his government, arrogant young CM Akhilesh has rubbed salt on the wounds of aggrieved people by advancing a misguiding theory of blame game that is far away from the ground realities as shouted by the local residents.
And this continuous denial mode of the severity of the riot, non acceptance of the mistakes and refusing to take properly coordinated steps for its resolution by asking support by convening an all party meet, has grievously aggravated the situation, with more reports of the violence and riot, fast spreading to more rural areas,as per reports regularly leaked every hour by the media.
Centre has reasons to worry with the reports coming that the Muzaffarnagar violence has spread to UP’s interiors, with more and more reports of incidents are reported unofficially. Firing was reported between two communities at Nandu Prasad, Rajowali, Ansarian and Dayanand Nagar areas - all urban pockets of Shamli. Arson was reported from Nandu Prasad area and firing was reported from Makhiyala village on Bhopa road on the outskirts of Muzzafarnagar.
UP’s principal secretary Home RM Srivastava confirmed this shift,“This time, the majority of the deaths has been reported in the villages located in Phugana, Shahpur, Sisauli and Dhaurkalan area of the district,” and observed violence in villages is much more difficult to control due to the geographical spread and thin deployment of security forces.
A unconfirmed media report, "Muzaffarnagar city was never the quietest place as frequent shootings and gang wars and minor communal tension were reported, but its rural residents never had to pack their bags and leave – like they are doing now.The sudden bloodshed has led to an exodus, among both jats and Muslims. Panic-stricken Muslims are on the run, as an influx of over 5,000 has taken shelter in madrasas, mosques or relatives’ homes in nearby villages. Abdul Gaffar, of village Jaula informed that eight madarsas and every available home have been turned into shelters as many had lost everything and the attackers who are in majority in the village, have occupied their houses".
The residents of village Soram Goela, village Jhaal village Ambarpur had run away from their homes with tales of horror and threats, they left their villages with their families. “We have rescued many families whose homes were either set on fire or damaged, and they were not allowed to escape. A senior army officer deputed in the area said, "We rescued members of at least 10 families before advancing in our route,” . The situation was no better in the villages of Kutba, Kutbi, Laak, Hasoli, Bhaurankala and Barawadi where clashes broke out only this Sunday.
Latest media report states: Six more deaths were reported from riot-hit Shamli,Baghpat districts; two milk vendors killed at Matheri village of Khatauli, late Monday night and their dead bodies were dumped on roadside, mob shot at two motorcycle-borne men killing one and critically injuring other in Meerapur area , two fresh dead bodies also found near Baghra and Titawai villages of Muzaffarnagar while one person was shot dead near Mansoorpur town of the district, two dead bodies were reportedly also recovered from Jaula village and Kutab-Kutbi village.
The peace is the need of hour for both the majority community as well for the members of minority, while the secured political leaders are watching the plight of innocent public, from the vote bank led political gain-loss policy binocular, this must stop.
The central government, which is always too late, must make amends and initiate all party led joint peace efforts to save innocent Indian public from this genocide created by the untimely handling of young CM Akhilesh and biased attitude of powerful local SP leaders.
