In response to the petition filed by the former BJP state unit chief Vijender Gupta, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for the alleged misuse of Rs.22.6 crore from public funds, the trial court has ordered filing of an FIR against Mrs. Dikshit for alleged misuse of government funds for an advertising campaign ahead of the 2008 assembly elections.
Many BJP activists staged a motorbike rally outside the residence of Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, and demanded her resignation within 24 hours for such misuse of public funds. The protesters demanded that if she does not resign on her own then the Congress must sack her as her continuation is against the basic norms of governance.
The chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party state unit Vijay Goel said that as Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, has been clearly indicted by the Lokayukta for misuse of public funds and then the court has put a stamp of approval on this by ordering registration of an FIR, she must immediately resign and proposed that if Delhi Police doesn't file an FIR against her then they will take the matter to the President of India .
It is bad to worst omen for Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and the Congress , just two months ahead of state election in November, and it is when her name and the party was seriously accused in similar corruption charges in the Delhi Commonwealth game earlier and she was also blamed for steep raise in electricity charges for the consumers in collusion of the private providers to benefit them.
