While running much ahead in the race, Narendra Modi , with his core competence in development, nationalism and a strong leadership as his basic guiding mantra for 2014, has sharpened his attack against the Gandhi family, by calling "the battle is now between dynasty and democracy, the prince and his whims and the "Constitution" of India".
Rahul Gandhi's sudden outburst on the ordinance, has not resulted in showcasing his actual seriousness about his anti-corruption convictions, it would definitely need further advances to ensure that the final legislation is in line with the letter and spirit of the Supreme Court’s ruling, that calls for the legislator's immediate disqualification.
Rahul's convictions would be more credible if he similarly push for political parties to be brought within the ambit of the Right to Information Act.
His determination to get parliament to enact a robust Lokpal bill in the past was subdued in nature. Again it is doubted that was it a Rahul's act or result of the president's refusal to sign on dotted lines as most of past Congress president had been used to do, has forced Rahul to enact the drama. It will always remain a question not answered , was President Pranab Mukherjee behind the cancellation of the ordinance and the bill ?
More the more the election D date gets closer; and host of new burning "Questions" will crop up that need probable PM candidate Rahul's specific views and answers . Many other pressing subjects, such as inflation, Telangana, communal polarisation (especially as seen in UP), Pakistani and Chinese mischiefs on the borders, economic growth and development ,stand on the long list of corruption and scams in UP 2, rupee depreciation, unemployment and food security, will need direct answer from Rahul , the probable PM aspirant from Congress.
