Why Sonia Gandhi so Eager to Save Tainted Pawan Bansal ?

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi would visit Chandigarh on March 27, after a gap of long time to campaign exclusively for the party’s candidate Pawan Kumar Bansal and will address a gathering at the Sector 25 rally ground, where Bansal is eyeing his fourth consecutive term from Chandigarh.

When the party ticket was given to Bansal, there was a lot of ruckus within a big  section of the Congress over Bansal's involvement in the rail bribery scam. But now Sonia Gandhi’s exclusive support to the tainted minister Bansal has forced the media and opposition to sit up and start probing the extra support to a tainted minister. While this visit of Congress president would prove to be a shot in the arm for Bansal, who was sidelined from public life after the involvement in the bribery cum Railgate scam.

Not only the Congress president is personally involved , but scores of several other Congress leaders from the adjoining states are instructed to visit the city for campaigning, by the Congress high command, and it smells most unusual. The others include senior leaders Virbhadra Singh, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Anand Sharma and Harish Rawat, expected to visit  among others.

The battle ground at Chandigarh has drawn unusual interest due to this exclusivity of Sonia's interest in Bansal and now it has drawn more opposition leaders including BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi , who would also address a rally in city on March 29. Though much protest was witnessed in the party over the candidature of actor Kirron Kher, the visit of Modi is likely to boost the campaign of the party which is much delayed.

Candidature of actor Kirron Kher was opposed by the local aspirants of BJP,who had been doing the ground work hoping to get the party ticket.Yes due to this last moment turmoil in the party, campaigning had taken a backseat. Now apart from Modi, several film stars including actor Anil Kapoor and her husband Anupam Kher would also campaign for her.

INDIA HONEST  finds a grand mismatch between what the Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's has uttered in public rallies against corruption and what his party president Sonia Gandhi is doing, by putting all special efforts to promote a tainted former minister Pawan Bansal ?
