A crucial change has been visible in thinking and choice of Muslims in the capital and that seems to be increasingly leaning towards the Aam Aadmi Party .Though the Congress contests this publicly, but Congress leaders admit privately that there is a major erosion of support for them among Muslims, now minorities are rooting for AAP.
AAP leader Irfanullah Khan said, "During the assembly election, we got only 15-20 % of all Muslim vote in Delhi," and added, "In the Lok Sabha election, we expect this to zoom to at least 80 % ."
Khan, the AAP candidate, who lost to the Congress in December, admitted this and said, "AAP has been interacting with Muslim religious leaders, intellectuals all over the country for a long time.We are charting a road map for Muslims".
AAP leaders, including Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, have been meeting Muslim religious leaders, retired bureaucrats and former politicians, Muslim academics,Muslims in the corporate field, social activists, asking to support the AAP and showing party's faith in Muslims.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had said publicly after Delhi assembly election that his party did not get the kind of Muslim support it had expected. He added, "We tell Muslims that it is we, AAP, who derailed the BJP in Delhi. In 22 assembly constituencies, the BJP finished second. Imagine if we were not there? All these seats would have gone to the BJP," and the fear of BJP was well set, even deep rooted among the Muslim voters, that will work this election, they hoped.
A well-known Muslim face in the Congress admitted that this may not be an exaggeration, in part because of the aggressive way Kejriwal and the AAP have been opposing Hindutava leader Modi, thus replacing the role of Congress.

INDIA HONEST is worried that the disease of minority appeasement has fast spread in the new outfit with a new ideology, the aam admi party. The Delhi experiment was half successful only because of the partial support of the minority community.
If it is critically correct to oppose Congress' leader Rahul for supporting Massod to polarise minority votes, then why AAP leader's boasting of Muslim support is not communal, it seems if at all a change is taking place in India politically,it may be true but only on negative side.

One of the prominent Muslim leader, who did not wish to be named, said that the scenario of Delhi may be true for many other parts of the country too, where the minority Muslims are moving fast as a group towards AAP , even more to oppose Modi .
But all this is not good as a "model of change in the way politics is done", when anti corruption drive of AAP has changed its colours so fast .Who knows if this disease of polarisation of minority voters will not hurt and spread among the majority community.
