The Prime Minister’s Office has criticised a just-released book on Manmohan Singh by Sanjaya Baru, former media advisor to the PM in UPA-1, calling it “fiction” and “coloured.” Baru’s book, "The Accidental Prime Minister: The making and unmaking of Manmohan Singh", documents the relationship between Sonia Gandhi and Singh, and how the latter decided to take the rap for bad decisions taken by the political head in order to avoid giving the impression of there being two power centres. But the PMO is clearly not amused. Singh has claimed Baru has misused his position. PTI In a statement read out by the PMO’s current media advisor, Pankaj Pachauri, in Delhi, Baru’s book has been dismissed “as an attempt to misuse a privileged position and access to high office to gain credibility and to apparently exploit it for commercial gains.
The commentary smacks of fiction and coloured views of the former adviser (i.e. Baru).” The statement also points to an earlier interaction that the PM had with senior editors, where Manmohan Singh is reported to have told them not to believe "all that he (Baru) is saying."
INDIA HONEST surprises why the PMO media manager is objecting on what another former PMO member opens up his observation ? Is he more true than the former ?
Moreover it was a known fact, often blamed by the political leaders and media persons that Dr. Singh is the weakest PM. of India. MMS was always regarded as the shadow PM.,whose legal ordinance were torn in public by the Congress VP in public meeting, ,and he has to bow down in public eyes as he was merely rubber stamp, working under Sonia Gandhi .
Yes the revelation by an competent insider has hurt Congress President hard, just on the eve of election. But the nation has suffered a lot in last decade for this anomaly, when a working prime minister categorised as one as deaf and dumb PM.. The bigger question is , will the people favour two power poles in the government anymore after seeing UPA 1& 2 result ?
