Dear Omar Abdullah, first thing first, both of the situations are quite different as : a Muslim, who is on Roja during the holy Ramadan, is on fast during certain period of the day and but eats the rotis and other things afterwards.
The roti is not a prohibited item by their religious choice to eat. It is only at the time of the roja, one who maintains fast does not eat anything.
Secondly, non veg meat is a prohibited item for "certain" Hindus , not only for that time but for the whole life, so it is not a point that he or she is not eating non-veg at that time only .
So the better, rather true question by Omar should have been that how Shiv Sena or BJP would have reacted if roti is pushed to a Hindu, when he is observing a fast , say on Shivratri ?
INDIA HONEST wish to answer the question even without consulting the Shiv Sena MPs, and the million $ answer is that nobody would have noticed or bothered, irrespective of the fact that the victimised person may be Hindu .
Don't you agree that thousand cases of misuse of political leader's muscle power on people, is happening regularly throughout India and most of those remain unnoticed , equally by the media and political leaders ?
So the answer to your question is that it will also remain non reacted by the Sena men. Dear Mr Omar Abdullah, the bigger and real answer to your this hypothetical question must be taken from the most secular media person; the prized secularism brand ambassador and the high profile TRP leader Mr. Arnab Goswami of Times Now . Even you may ask the question to the so called secular leaders like Rashid Alvi of Congress or Mamta-Mayawati or many other vocal political leaders.
But tit would be best if you better give the reply yourself ? How you would have reacted ? Won't you have reacted in a similar subdued manner as the whole media reacted to the violence in Amarnath Yatra camp ? Yes or no .
Look gentlemen, Indians have two set of rules for secularism for last many decades, and it is a fact that because of the communal reactive past, all the present political actions and reactions are mischievously leading to rise in distrust and disharmony after the recent changeover.
Yes revenge or bull dodging acts should never be supported in any form, the need of hour is not to indulge in scoring brownie TRP points by the media people by excessive highlighting on such minor incidents but to promote the moderate reconciliation on past mistakes and it must be done jointly by all in the wider national interest.
