Mehdi Masroor Biswas, executive in an Indian multinational company has been arrested in Jalahalli in north Bengaluru on charges of being the key voice of global jihadi group ISIS on Twitter. He had been broadcasting the group's terror missions and luring recruits to fight in the Syrian and other West Asian theatres of conflict, say police. Mehdi Masroor owned @ShamiWitness, a Twitter handle that propagated the violent ideology of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Police described Mehdi Masroor as a radical ideologue of the jihadi cause, who reportedly told the interrogators, “India does not have real Muslims capable of jihad“. A senior police officer who interrogated him said Biswas supported ISIS because he felt they were fighting “the real war“.
In a fresh interview to Channel 4 on Friday , Mehdi said he was willing to turn himself in. “I haven't done anything wrong. I haven't raised any war or any violence against the public of India... I just said stuff, people followed me, then I followed them back and then we talked. I only knew what the ISIS fighters or sympathisers said in public tweets,“ .
The National Investigation Agency, which was already on the trail after Arif Majeed, an ISIS recruit from Mumbai was arrested in November, said during interrogation that he was following an ISIS Twitter account which he had heard was being run by a man from Bengaluru.
The account operator is reported to have claimed that he was in regular contact with British jihadis before they left to join the ISIS and after they arrived. He had been encouraging ISIS fighters through his tweets.
INDIA HONEST is curious to know what Mehdi Masroor liked about ISIS ? It is much important to note, as the ISIS in it's latest communique, as reported is that ISIS justifies making non-believers as sex slaves. The Sunni militants led group ISIS has justified the enslavement of non-Muslim women and children and doing sexual torture with them, not sparing even young girls.
This message has been propagated by an ISIS pamphlet titled “Question and Answers on Female Slaves and their Freedom”, which was distributed to the people of the Iraqi city of Mosul, which the extremists control. The pamphlet also claimed that non-Muslim women and children could be sold off and given as gifts to others.A resident of Mosul was quoted saying about the ISIS pamphlet as,“Most are shocked, but (we) cannot do much about it,” .
Many accounts of the ISIS kidnapping, selling and enslaving women and children have surfaced since the group began its brutal run through Syria and Iraq, including the killings of innocent civilians simply because they did not subscribe to the ISIS’s extreme take on the Sharia law.
INDIA HONEST wonders if Mehdi Masroor Biswas agrees with and liked to propagate what the ISIS has declared as above and as well the ISIS militants' justification of their actions, like the beheading of journalists and aid workers in god’s name.
The million $ question is - If Indians are ready to accept the rationale as laid out by the group ISIS - that capturing women is permissible if they were “non believers” ?
INDIA HONEST confidently believes that India, its culture and its people do not support or subscribe to such cruel theory of ISIS, but it is the vibrant and free Indian media, in their greed for higher TRP, has been mischievously advertising all that one want to know about ISIS, to all those who are curiously interested to know, what is ISIS ? If it is a new religious but militant phenomena that can be accepted as a proud ?
