The number of Muslims joining BJP has doubled in last one year, but the challenge ahead is, how much can BJP mobilise these members and use their huge potentials in tilting the power axis. Most of these members have joined through missed calls but in order to capitalise on them BJP needs a brand new plan, this can very much help them in upcoming Bihar, West Bengal and UP assembly elections which send large number of representatives to LokSabha & Rajya Sabha as well. Around 4 lakh of them have joined in MP, followed by Gujarat (2.6 lakh), Delhi (2.5 lakh), West Bengal (2.3 lakh) Rajasthan and Assam (over 2 lakh each). UP BJP has also recorded around 1.75 lakh 'missed calls' from Muslims.
बीजेपी सदस्यों का मानना है कि भले ही ये सदस्य मिस्ड कॉल अभियान से बनाए गए हों, लेकिन इससे मुस्लिम सदस्यों की संख्या में अप्रत्याशित तौर पर उछाल आया है। देश भर में लगभग 30 लाख मुस्लिमों ने बीजेपी के सदस्य बने हैं।
पार्टी के नैशनल माइनॉरिटी सेल के चीफ अब्दुल राशिद अंसारी का कहना है कि, इससे पहले पार्टी में मुस्लिमों की असल संख्या को कभी आंका नहीं गया था, फिर भी मोटे तौर पर कहा जा सकता है कि अब यह पहले से दोगुनी हो गई है।बीजेपी के माइनॉरिटी सेल की ओर से उपलब्ध कराए गए आंकड़ों के मुताबिक जिन राज्यों में बीजेपी की सरकार है, वहां काफी ज्यादा संख्या में मुस्लिम सदस्य बने हैं।
