British journalist of Indian origin Hasan Suroor, 65, has been reportedly arrested following a video sting by an anti-paedophile group, Unknown TV.

   British journalist of Indian origin Hasan Suroor has been reportedly arrested following a video sting by an anti-paedophile group Unknown TV.  Unknown TV seems to have befriended Hasan Suroor on Facebook posing as a 14-year-old girl. The girl seems to have brought in a sexual angle to their conversation, eliciting a favourable response from him.    Under British law it is a crime to initiate any conversation of sexual nature with minors.

In a sting operation the Unknown TV befriended Hasan Suroor on Facebook posing as a 14-year-old girl. The "girl" seems to have brought in a sexual angle to their conversation, eliciting a favourable response from him, knowing well that under British law it is a crime to initiate any conversation of sexual nature with minors.

Hasan Suroor further travelled from Chelsea to Deptford Bridge allegedly to meet the 14-year-old girl and have sex with her. He was confronted there by Unknown TV activists, who recorded the encounter and handed him over to the police.

       

In the video  Hasan Suroor admits to having mentioned that he would be gentle with the girl. He is also seen pleading with the activists asking to be let go as it was his first offence.

Mr Tejpal, 50, is the former editor-in-chief of Tehelka, an investigative news magazine.  He was arrested in late November for allegedly sexually assaulting his younger co-worker at a Tehelka conference in Goa earlier that month. 


Unknown TV made the trail and trap Hasan Suroor, a well known journalist, who has covered UK for several Indian publications. Hasan Suroor has been arrested under sections 14 and 15 of the Sexual Offences Act of 2003. 

India Honest is not surprised that though when convicted, Hasan Suroor faces 10 years in jail, while in India the great Tehlaka magazine icon Tejpal has managed to escape till date with the help of his Congi bosses, even for the worst sex crime with his staff and friend of her daughter. Who disagrees, even "Sex Criminal Tejpals and Hasan Suroors are our Journalistic Heroes ".
