सबको एक साथ बांधने वाला सूत्र हिंदुत्व है, यह उन्होंने जान लिया था। सबके लिए आदर्श मूल्य उन्होंने बताया था। मातृभूमि के लिए आस्था यह हिंदू समाज का स्वभाव है। परंपरा से आई हुई यह आस्था है। इसके आधार पर संस्कृति बढ़ती है, पुरखों का गौरव होता है। आज विश्व को इसकी आवश्यकता है।
भारतीय मूल्यों की प्रतिष्ठापना करने हेतु संगठन की आवश्यकता है। राष्ट्रीय चरित्रवाले समाज निर्माण करना और देश को परम वैभव प्राप्त करवाना, यह संघ का कार्य है।
किसी भी प्राकृतिक विपत्ति के समय आगे आनेवाला स्वयंसेवक ही होगा, यह संघ की पहली पहचान है। अपने हित का विचार छोड़कर समाज के लिए निरालस, निस्वार्थ सेवा करनेवाला अर्थात् संघ स्वयंसेवक। यह गर्व का नहीं, अपितु 90 वर्षों से संघ जो कर रहा है, उस प्रयोग का फल है।
