The electoral alliance between the Left Front and Congress in West Bengal seems to have proved costly for CPM in Tripura, the country's only Left-ruled state. Left has lost as many as 26 leaders, including the youth wing leader of Khowai district. All of them resigned from CPM's primary membership as reported in the media .

“We have seen a moral shift in the party leadership. Some leaders have become power crazy. It seems our party doesn't need us any more,“ said CPM leader Animesh Gope.

Congress, too, suffered serious losses after its legislative party leader Sudip Roy Barman, state Congress working president Ashis Saha and state Youth Congress president Susanta Choudhury quit the party in protest against the leadership's decision to join hands with the Left Front in West Bengal.

Ashis Saha said the Congress high command had decided to tie up with the Left Front despite opposition from senior party leaders.“We don't have the courage to face party workers,“ he said. Leader of opposition in the assembly Sudip Roy Barman sent his resignation to party president Sonia Gandhi on Thursday .

India Honest wonders what is running in the mind of a common man or a party supporter ? Where he should go, whom to vote, the candidate in the uneven alliance as per party diktat , to one candidate of the party , whom they disliked and opposed for decades or vote to any other option that had already tried their luck and failed to deliver.

The alliance, that combined Left's Yechuri with his bete noire Rahul, is most unpopular alliance in recent history, as found even before the actual voting . More party members are coming out in open, resenting and rejected the alliance. The bulk of supporters have failed to put trust on this joining of hands.

Sorry, now it is getting confirmed by every passing day that this alliance is rejected by bulk of their supporters. They feel angered from the very beginning, that this alliance of mismatchedf ideologies, is meant to be broken and abandoned soon. But that would become an act of pure cheating to the wishes of the faithful core voters-supporters, nobody among the senior leaders thought of that .

And the disintegration within the party's core leaders and supporters has already started. Left has lost as many as 26 leaders, while Congress  too has suffered serious losses. It is rumoured that it will speed up after much  expected dismal results, in either of the states.

The political pundits are questioning what will happen if Left defeats Congress in Kerala , as many media houses are suggesting ? Than how the Congressmen will continue the alliance in Bengal in future ?

Look it will be more harmful and even dangerous for the fate of Rahul Gandhi, when if Congress is doomed  in all the four states. This can seal Congress future for the rest of the state elections in 2017-18 including Punjab, UP and also Karnataka later on. Rahul has taken a big risk and that may doom his and Congress party hope for a long time and that will cause accelerated demise of the oldest party.
