Four heavily armed terrorists who were attempting to infiltrate in the forward area of Naugam Sector through the inhospitable, snow covered and harsh terrain were eliminated on 26 May 2016.
Havildar JD Hangpandade a gritty soldier from the Tirap District of Arunachal Pradesh led his team with indomitable courage to bring effective fire on the terrorists and pinned them down. Disregarding his personal safety he fought valiantly and got grievously injured during the fire fight.
While being evacuated to the Army Hospital, the brave heart succumbed to his injuries and made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. A solemn ceremony to pay homage to this braveheart was held today and GOC #ChinarCorpslaid wreath on the mortal remains of this#BraveSonofIndia Suresh Kochattil
