BJP protests Kerala party worker’s murder outside Delhi CPI(M) office.
Around 600 people were detained after a minor scuffle, which broke out when BJP workers broke police barriers and damaged the signboard at the CPI(M) headquarters.
Reacting to the allegation, a press statement released by CPI (M) on Sunday said, “The BJP is levelling false allegations about violence by the CPI (M) against BJP workers in Kerala. CPM party’s General Secretary Sitaram Yechury hit at the saffron front alleging that BJP is playing a game of lies. He spoke in defence of the CPI(M) Kerala Unit and alleged that it was BJP’s men that attacked victory processions of the Left leaders.
Bharatiya Janata Party delegation under the leadership of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari met President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday and expressed their concern over the post-poll violence in Kerala. They also appealed to look into the matter in which a 38-year-old BJP party worker was allegedly killed by CPI(M) workers during the celebration rally in Idavilangu in Kerala on Thursday.
Briefing the media soon after the meeting with the President, Gadkari said that they have informed Pranab Mukherjee about the condition of Kerala and are sad with the development. He said, “Our delegation met President, over atrocities against RSS and BJP workers,both pre and post elections.” He adde that even after knowing the situation going out of control, police did not take appropriate action. Gadkari said, “Also, police did not take appropriate action on the same. We have been assured of appropriate action by the President.”
