Failing to defend his Infrastructure Minister Santhosh Lad any more,Karnataka's Congress Chief Minister Siddaramaiah edged him to resign from the Cabinet .He was forced to take this stern action ,after defending the minister Santhosh Lad for over two months, despite huge protests by the BJP, including their complaints to the Governor, even Congress' own party men's allegation of the minister's involvement in illegal mining.Congress Chief Minister was more worried that this protest by BJP members would end up in stalling the legislature session, beginning November 25.
Congress high command was equally worried, with their past experience of the allegations of many scams in UPA2, resulting in stalling of the parliament on number of times, and which ultimately resulting in the forced resignation of many ministers from central government cabinet.
The fresh incident of scam in Karnataka, shows Congress has not learnt any lesson from their past history of huge corruption cases in UPA 2,including the Coalgate and others, and had still chose the same road of corruption, rather exactly did the carbon copy of what they did in Delhi.
CM Siddaramaiah denied of any directive from the Congress high command for his resignation, and argued that the minister himself submitted his resignation in consultation with him, in response to huge allegations of the minister's involvement in illegal mining .
Santhosh Lad was the lone mining baron ,who found his way into Siddaramaiah's Congress Cabinet in Karnataka. He also denied the allegation and said,"I am not involved in any illegal mining. My position has not changed and there is no question of anybody having to defend me. It is such a technical matter that people are not able to understand my position. It is very sad,and added,"I have not been asked to resign by the party high command or the CM. I am quitting to save the party and the government embarrassment,''.
INDIA HONEST regrets on the status and mindset of the entire fertinity of political class, when they fail to understand the need of the day for the nation, failing to learning any lesson from the past, rather more indulgent in finding newer opportunity to become wealthier, by all means.
