Finance Minister in the Mood of " Resigning from Attack on Narendra Modi" .

Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram accepted that the Congress party considers BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a “challenger.” We cannot ignore him.We have to take note of him,” .

Chidambaram said,“So far he (Modi) is extremely opaque. So far he has not spoken on any of the major issues. He has just made election promises”.

He said on Rahul that,“Rank and file seems to think that if party is voted to power, Rahul Gandhi should be the leader of the party and leader of the government,”.

While accusing Modi for his views on major financial issues , he acknowledged Rahul's weakness on important matters and noted that though Mr. Gandhi has been addressing various public rallies and he liked that, “But if I was advising him (Rahul), I would have advised him to spell out his views on various major issues (in the rallies),”.

Similarly he exposed the often mentioned accusation that why most leaders, including the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have not been commenting on major issues, the Finance Minister said, “PM does address audience and addresses press conferences, although it is not as much as I expect him to do.”

The writ is written large on most of the Congress leaders face, surprised with the rise of Narendra Modi, as they have very little as a strategy to tackle him, the Finance Minister was unexpectedly in the mood of resigning from attack, when he moderated Congress fire and said that as an individual he is concerned about his (Modi’s) ideology, philosophy and the kind of language he has been using in public rallies.
