News media report describes that Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will finally settle for two big adjacent duplex houses on Bhagwan Dass Road, nowhere near as grand as the previous chief minister’s residence on Motilal Nehru Marg, but not quite the aam Delhiite home either.
Each of the two duplex flats has five bedrooms and a lawn and put together, will have at least 6,000 sq feet built-up area and 9,000 sq ft ground coverage together plus the lawns and servant quarters in both houses. Sources in the urban development ministry said this is larger than the area of bungalows allotted to many Supreme Court judges and Union Cabinet ministers in the Lutyens Bungalow Zone .
Kejriwal’s impending move to these two fairly large houses is bound to be questioned by the opposition as well as the common men, reminding him of his promise that he would live in a flat like a common man and will suspect his dramatised hate to the "Lalbati led VIP culture".
At present, the new CM stays in his Kaushambi flat in Ghaziabad with his family in an Indian Revenue Service flat allotted to his wife. Kejriwal will be shifting to the new duplex houses very soon, along with his wife, two children and both parent.
(IH hopes the Mrs. Kejriwal will not surrender the occupation of IRS flat in haste, at least she should wait till June, as the marriage of AA party CM with the heretofore most corrupt party, Congress is temporary in nature,as it was alleged to be done with the basic objective of halting BJP and as such it has to break sooner than later.)
