The riots in Muzaffarnagar and adjoining areas in last September had left 61 dead and uprooted more than 50,000 people from their homes.The camps , where these victims were put on have reported several more children's death than the earlier report of the appointed committee that had confirmed 34 children all below 12 years had died between September 7 and December 20.
In spite of continuous blame and pressure on the SP government for the negligence in camps, where riot victims are suffering in the bitter cold and many are regularly dying, as another one 48-year-old dies in a relief camp due to cold today.
But the most shameful is the position taken by the leaders of SP including the CM Akhilesh Yadav on the two crucial events that relates to one the Saifai Mahotsav and the second event of foreign study tour, when more than two dozen SP MLAs and ministers led by Azam Khan have ventured on a twenty days foreign entertainment tour in the disguise of a government-sponsored international study tour.
Instead of bowing to public demand and opposition's hue and cry in the light of the plight of the victims of riot for grave absence of proper arrangement for their staying at camps or subsequent rehabilitation , the SP leadership has objected to the allegation and turned a deaf ear to the complaints .
Moreover the minister and SP spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhary on the questions on Saifai Mahotsav with budget of several crores at a time of pain for riot victims has said, “Whenever the SP government does any public-connect event or programme, why do rivals and the opposition get restive. It is a festival for rural folk, promoting rural art, culture and tradition,”.

Akhilesh Yadav, however, defended the event saying it was a party tradition. Party's Muslim leader Azam Khan also defended it saying that his party had never ignored the riot victims. Ironically, till now both Mulayam Singh and Azam Khan have not visited the relief camps.
INDIA HONEST sees no reasons, why these 20 MLAs should be restricted from travelling to Turkey, Greece, UK, UAE and the Netherlands for the next twenty days, as defending the party's such study tour (study with non bollywood actors and their programmes ) decision, the shameless leader Azam Khan has already justified, "It's a study tour. You said it yourself. Shouldn't leaders go out and study?"
The irony with Indian voters is this that they will give maximum support in any election to such political toughs, like Azam Khan, Raja Bhaiya and Akhilesh Yadav or Mulayam Singh .
