India's Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, a Congress leader in a Youth Congress event at Maharashtra's Sholapur district, alleged that since the last four months a section of the electronic media is "manipulating" news about him and his party and warned it would be "crushed" if this kind of reportage is not stopped immediately.
Sushilkumar Shinde basically threatens to 'crush' media indulging in anti-Congress propaganda, when he said: "Certain elements in the media orchestrate 'nasty designs'. Since I'm also in charge of the intelligence wing, I know where this is coming from.We have been working silently to place checks on them, but there was a campaign from them over the past four months. We are now going to crush these elements in the electronic media spreading false propaganda,."
BJP spokesman Naquvi condemned Shinde and said,"They are basically depressed about their defeat, and therefore they are saying such things. It is an outcome of their frustration and depression . They think that corruption and bad governance is their constitutional right, and when someone tries to speak up against it they say such things," . He added,"This is not the first time that they have said something like this. Earlier, Shinde had spoken about saffron terrorism in Jaipur, and his party had also made fun of plates of the poor," .
INDIA HONEST , though completely agrees with with serious objection from the electronic media (news) channels over Shinde's threat, but IH has more serious objection on the Home Minister Shinde,on his blunt misuse of his role and power as central home minister, by using the official power and machinery in his personal and his party's objective of restricting other political parties, thus crushing the fundamental right of speech and expression.
It is serious offence on the part of Shinde, who is holding the important job of maintaining internal security,while it gives strength to the allegation on Congress government and leaders, which is disregarding vital national security matters, but indulging in their personal nasty target of curbing the other opposition political parties, by involving in all personal intimidation cases like Gujarat snooping case, Ishrat fake encounter investigation to trap Amit Shah, and now restricting/threatening the media; not to criticise or publicise Congress and Shinde's misdeeds.
