The NDA government vision document, as read by the President Pranab Mukherjee in the joint session of parliament on Monday has many vital points that specifies Modi's road map for next few years .
Though,as usual the President has given many points in his address, but out of all those one can draw few points that will be stressed by the new government in their immediate economic agenda and that include steps for containing consumer prices, creation of new jobs, breaking high inflation and high interest rates cycle, reform in agriculture sector, encouraging foreign investment , cutting down obstacles to speed up approvals for major business projects, good home and clean water for everybody with uninterrupted power supplies and many more .
The revival of growth in economy will remain at the centre stage of the theme on which most acts of the new government will run around and that has been underlined in the policy suggestion as given by the President in his address to the Parliament as detailed below :
a) The new government will use public and private investment to create jobs for the millions who enter the workforce every year and will make containing inflation its top priority.
b) The government would introduce a general sales tax in the design called GST, encourage foreign investment and speed up approvals for major business projects. It would also tackle bottlenecks that have caused food prices to rise more quickly in India than in any other major economy.
c) The anti-inflationary objective will remain important for the time being and that means continuation of the measures taken by the central bank governor Raghuram Rajan, who has made lowering India's growth-stifling high interest rates contingent on containing consumer prices.
d) As the forecasts on al Nino are suggesting that there will be less rain than normal this year add to the government's headaches and the new government has proposals to fix the problems by clamping down on "hoarders" .
e) Shortages of warehousing, a dependence on monsoon rains and a complex network of middlemen that leads to price gouging and irregular supplies of vegetables in mainly vegetarian India is noted as the problem area that the government will undertake to solve by different steps including by building more cold storage.
f) From the government side, the attack on inflation will include public and private investments in agriculture, including irrigation. If the monsoon falls short, India will consider giving subsidised diesel, cheaper loans and extra seeds to farmers.
g) The government has promised to ensure that every family had a good home with uninterrupted power supplies by 2022. Also it will urgently seek to revamp the creaking railway system, focusing on high-speed trains, as well as road and airport building.
h)The President speech also contained promises to modernise government with technology and to take broadband connections to every village within five years .
INDIA HONEST hopes that the new government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will be able to achieve most of the targeted objectives and will prove in real term his election slogan of "Aacche Din" for the benefit of 125 crore Indians. With a balanced head on a determined and dedicated leader, the Narendra Modi, has already shown some glimpse of the strength of his vision in the first fortnight of joining by winning back international recognition for himself and the nation, hope all goes well that starts well .
