It is important to note that UPA-2’s railway minister Mallikarjuna Kharge has spent the major part of his career in Karnataka and is little known in Delhi, though he became UPA-2’s railway minister only after Bansal was caught in Railgate scandal in the last year.
While Kharge is neither known for his articulation, a minimum quality that’s regarded by party men as a prerequisite to take on a communicator like Modi nor he has the stature to come close to the prime minister Narendra Modi.
The only quality Mallikarjuna Kharge has, is that of being a dalit and loyal to high command and that became too important to counter the claims of other Congress leaders for the post.
INDIA HONEST wonders how Rahul Gandhi , who boasted recently to play the role of the responsible opposition to safeguard people's interest while commenting that we (Congressmen) will "aag laga denge " if find any wrong by the BJP government. And so he chose a mute and innocent old hand Mallikarjuna Kharge to lead the part in opposition instead of joining himself as the young Congress leader in the parliament.
Yes it is true wise Sonia has decided to play safe by replacing a mute Manmohan Singh as the leader of house of the last parliament by placing a non combative , unambitious, old , safe and loyal Congressman Mallikarjuna Kharge to lead Congress party while sitting in the opposition.
