26/11 को असिस्टेंट सब इन्स्पेक्टर तुकाराम ओम्बले साहब की नाइट ड्यूटी थी जो रात के 12 बजे ख़त्म हो रही थी ! रात के 12:30 बजे उनकी पत्नी का फोन आया की ''जल्दी घर आ जाओ'' क्योकि पत्नी को पता चल गया था की मुंबई में आतंकी हमला हुआ है !
उसी समय तुकाराम जी के वायरलेस फोन पर सीनियर अधिकारी का संदेश आया ''एक आतंकवादी मरीन ड्राइव की तरफ भागा है पोजीसन लो'' तुकाराम जी के पास उस समय मात्र एक डंडा था पर ओ हिम्मत करके सचेत हो गए की 12:45 पर वायरलेस सेट पर फिर संदेश आया '' दो आतंकवादियों ने स्कोडा कार को कब्जे में लिया है और वे कार की खिड़की से गोलिया बरसाते हुए मरीन ड्राइव की तरफ बढ़ रहे है''l
संदेश ख़त्म नही हुआ की वही कार तुकाराम जी के बगल से निकली तो तुकाराम जी अपनी बाइक से कार का पीछा किया व कार को ओवर टेक किया और कार ड्राइवर का कालर पकड़ कर खींचा तो कार डिवाइडर पर चढ़ गई और आतंकी कार से उतर कर अधाधुंध गोली चलने लगे अपनी जान की परवाह किये बिना निहत्थे तुकाराम जी AK 47 से लैस ''कसाब'' से भिड़ गए और धर दबोचा और तब तक कसाब ने कई गोलिया तुकराम जी के पेट में उतार दिया पर लहूलुहान तुकाराम जी ने कसाब को पटक कर पकड़ लिया और तब तक नहीं छोड़ा जब तक और पुलिस कर्मी नहीं आ गए ! अन्य पुलिस कर्मी आते ही कसाब को दबोच लिया पर तुकाराम जी शहीद हो गए ! जिस स्थान पर कसाब पकड़ा गया था वहां अब उनकी मूर्ति लगाई गई है ! तुकाराम ओम्बले जी को मरणोपरांत अशोक चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया !
तुकाराम जी चाहते तो अपनी बाइक से भागकर अपने घर चले जाते पर उन्होंने ऐसा नहीं किया ! पूरी सत्य कहानी लिखते लिखते रोंगटे खड़े हो गए ! सीना 56 इंच का हो गया पर आँखों से आंसू भी छलक पड़े !
कौन कहता है की हम हिन्दू कमजोर-कायर है ? ये तो भाड़ सेकुलरों की नापाक चाल है जो आज़ादी के बाद से ही हमें सत्य इतिहास नहीं पढ़ाया गया और हमे कायर कमजोर बताया गया !
Assistant Sub-Inspector Tukaram Omble was a quiet dedicated man, Omble was on the night shift at a police station off Chowpatty in the south Mumbai, when a message was received about two gunmen speeding towards Malabar hill after hijacking a vehicle near Marine Drive.
Though Tukaram Omble, hadn't made headlines in his long police career, but with his bravery on the night on 26 November 2008 he ensured the arrest of Mohammed Ajmal Kasab,the sole gunman involved in the terror strikes to be caught alive.
Tukaram Omble along with his colleagues took up positions near Girgaum Chowpatty to stop the Skoda car. Omble was armed with a baton and a radio.The car approached at a high speed, but stopped 50 feet from the barricade. Suddenly, the beam lights went on, and the car swerved towards the barricades.Omble was the first to rush out from behind the barricades and attempted to grab Kasab who had jumped out of the vehicle.
Tukaram Omble bravery in graphic detail: "With the terrorists momentarily distracted, Omble sprang toward one of them, Amir Kasab, and gripped the barrel of the AK47 rifle with both hands. With the barrel pointing towards Omble, Amir pulled the trigger. A spray of bullets entered his stomach and intestine. Omble collapsed, but held on to the gun till he breathed his last, stopping Amir from shooting anyone else."
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead by doctors there.However, thanks to Omble's bravery, Kasab was caught alive and confessed to his crime revealing the masterminds who had plotted the attacks from across the border. It also resulted in Pakistan initiating a trial against accused like Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed.
Omble was awarded the nation's highest peace-time gallantry award, the Ashok Chakra but for his family, the news of the hanging of Kasab was a form of closure.
Tukaram Omble's brother Eknath Omble said, "We were waiting for this day. I am glad that today the President and the Home minister took the right decision. A terrorist like Kasab should have been hanged in public," .
