India’ second largest e-commerce giant Snapdeal has removed brand ambassador Aamir Khan’s photo from its social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter on Friday, when the actor left the country for USA.The super star’s picture has been replaced by new winter collection apparel campaign.
Following this huge loss, Snapdeal issued a statement in the press saying; “Snapdeal is neither connected nor plays a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity”. It is worth noting that the TV commercial starring Aamir was not seen on television since the controversy sparked.
Though, Snapdeal stood by its statement, this move by them, seems that company is in a damage control mood. However, Snapdeal is yet to speak on the subject. A mail sent to company spokesperson remained unanswered till the filing of report.
