Dig sir calls for ban on pre-poll surveys, says they are threat to communal harmony as most of the pre-poll surveys predicting Congress losing ground in upcoming assembly and general elections and now with BJP leading in many states and now even Aam Aadmi Party joining the lead role through an in-house survey that shows them sweeping Delhi assembly elections.
Senior leader Dig sir has called for a ban on such surveys citing them as a “major threat to the communal harmony” of the country.Such surveys put pressure on communities to follow the political choice of others in their own community. This is divisive politics, and it should be banned,” .
He questioned, “Tomorrow Narendra Modi could fake a survey and claim that every Hindu supports him,”. The leader expressed his fears, “This is communal politics. Such surveys must be banned. Also, these surveys are just wrong. Dalits and Muslims support Congress,” .
INDIA HONEST agrees : Though the story may be a faking one, but it shows the mentality of the political leaders, how they wish to interpret any views or news in public domain by twisting the meaning in their favour or rejecting it as incorrect . This goes on nakedly again and again . This is nothing less than bankruptcy of Indian intellectuals, who have little access to present their contradicting views on any topic.
People are forced to acknowledge and to accept the conclusion, promoted by sometimes hugely biased print and other medias. This way we are weakening the democracy.Look, a true man like Anna has to put his life on danger by fasting, just to popularise a concept of Jan Lokpal or RTI, again that was also twisted when it reaches the rural mass of people by the might and wealth of political Hitlers.
This raises the question. Don't we need a retrospective in our role in last several decades, where we failed to promote an independent, transparent and intelligent, "News and Analysis" wing or institute, on political or social or economic or foreign matters, like PTI or Crisil or in the tune independent judiciary ? This would have helped the work of a transparent and reliable fourth pillar, the source of correct data and analysis. a much needed object for a direction to the welfare and upliftment of our society. It will move the political energy in the direction to the benefit of people.
