Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate once again accused the Congress of playing communal politics. While addressing a rally in Ghaziabad from where former Army Chief General VK Singh is the party candidate, Narendra Modi said that while even a Parsi (Field Marshal Manekshaw) could become the chief of the Indian Army, yet the Congress-led UPA government under Sonia Gandhi's instructions ordered a count of soldiers based on religion which was thwarted by senior defence officers.
Modi started his speech by paying homage to Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw on his 100th birth anniversary,and said he was honoured to address a rally in Ghaziabad and seek vote for General (retd) VK Singh on the birth centenary of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, who was one of the finest Army Chiefs. "After serving the Indian Army with distinction, former General Singh joined BJP. He knows we are a nationalist party. Our aim to work for the country".
Narendra Modi said that while his party pursued an inclusive policy, the Congress was busy dividing the country on religious lines. Raking up the issue of Sonia Gandhi meeting Shahi Imam of Delhi's Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed Bukhari, he asked the Election Commission to take suo moto cognizance of the matter and act against the Congress.
Modi said that BJP wanted development for all but the Congress had been fooling the country since Independence and never worked to make India a strong and self-reliant country.
INDIA HONEST surprises on the policies and arguments the so called secular leaders, how they visualise India as a nation, when in their greed of getting more votes and for that creating the biggest division among the major communities of the nation. By spreading the hatred against individual opponents, which in effect resulting in creating very dangerous hatred feelings among the people.It is a dangerous step that may disturb or even damage the unity of our different communities for a long time.
Will Sonia Gandhi be allowed to escape after her unquestionable communal act by asking the Imam to ask specifically the Muslims to vote for the party ? Will not this will lead other parties to do similar things with other religious leaders to corner votes in their favour ?
Where it will lead the nation to ? Will it help the development of nation or in resolving the problems of people, relating price rise, corruption, unemployment , safety and security of women or even if at all : will it guarantee security of minorities from further hit in the riots ( as last seen in MZF) ?
Lastly what right the Congress leadership has to ask for votes from the Muslims , when Congress has completely failed in last ten years to implement the "Sachar committee recommendations" ? Congress has completely failed in its duty and responsibilities in Muzffernagar.
Congress has been the biggest offender, hurting the minority interest and welfare, cheating the ordinary Muslim by getting favour through the Imam for votes from the back door, while ignoring their basic needs.
