Bikaner police on Monday arrested one person, allegedly kingpin of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's dubious land deals in Rajasthan. The man, identified as Jay Prakash Bangarwa, is a resident of JNV Colony, in Bikaner. He was chairman of Loonkaransar Krishi Mandi from 2006 to 2011. With connivance with revenue department officials, he prepared fake mutation (transfer of ownership) for around 360 hectares of land in Bikaner's Kolayat region. The land was fraudulently allocated to villagers under a rehabilitation programme. It was then bought by companies including some owned by Vadra.
Later on the basis of fake and forged documents, this land was sold out to various companies including M/s Sky Light Hospitality, owned by Robert Vadra, ignoring all rules and regulations. The matter came to light during the previous Congress government, and an inquiry was ordered when Vashundhara Raje returned to power in 2013. The revenue department in January cancelled the mutation of land measuring 360 hectare available in Golary, Indo Ka Bala and Madh villages of Kolayat tehsil.
The deals took place in 2009 primarily in the name of companies including Sky Light Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., Blue Bridge Trading Pvt. Ltd., Skylight Reality Pvt. Ltd., Real Earth Estates Pvt. Ltd. and North India IT Park Pvt. Ltd. Robert Vadra is said to be "director" in all these companies.
