Rally in memory of Gopal Chandra Mukherjee, the savior of Kolkata at the time of "Direct Action Day" of Muslim League on 16 August 1946,the day of "Great Calcutta Killing".
Rally started from Raja Subodh Mallick Square at 3 pm, ended at Shyambazar 5 point crossing near Netaji statue at 5 pm.on 16 August Sunday.Santanu Mukherjee, grandson of Gopal Ch. Mukherjee was present at the starting point.
In the concluding program at Shyambazar : Chief Guest - Sri Suresh Chavanke, C.E.O. of Sudarshan TV Channel, Delhi.Special Guest - Sri S S Rajput, Vice President, All India Kshatriya Samaj.Main Speaker - Tapan Ghosh, President, Hindu Samhati.
At the end of the rally, flags of Pakistan and ISIS have been burned. Also pictures of Dawood Ibrahim, Jinnah and Surawardy have been burned by the youths. FIFTEEN THOUSAND PEOPLE, MOSTLY YOUTHS JOINED THIS HISTORIC RALLY INCLUDING A GOOD NUMBER OF WOMEN.
