Crying Foul of Weaker Team of Dalits Is a Time Tasted Ploy

It was September 2, fresh in the election campaign, Rahul Gandhi said that he often visited Uttar Pradesh and found in 99% of the schools that upper caste students sat in the front rows while Dalit students were pushed to the back of the class. The situation is the same in the rest of the country since no political party has groomed Dalit leaders.

Rahul said. "When people talk of Dalit leadership, I don't see anyone. I want to build Dalit leadership at all levels - zila, block, assembly. I want such a leadership that to fill one post I should get 100 candidates so that I get more choice. He  even attacked the only known face of Dalit leader and BSP chief Mayawati for this lapse and promised to field more candidates from this community."

"Rahul Gandhi sets eyes on wooing Dalits in next election"

Just one month  after, the same Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said today that Mayawati has captured the space of Dalit leadership in UP. But now he opted to openly challenge the leadership of Mayawati, saying that she is not letting the Dalit leadership grow in UP. Accusing her of 'single-handedly' leading the party, not allowing anyone from her own community to represent Bahujan Samaj Party .

***HI asks , what is the difference ? If one compares this with Congress, where the party president post is a "Dynastic Property" for decades. Rahul must pause before accusing others, because all are not the pet Congress leaders , who will be afraid of him,so to refrain from pointing his faults.

As an example, Rahul referred to a childhood incident that his grandmother had shared with him. Mayaji not letting Dalits grow up the political ladder, said Rahul He said, when Indira Gandhi was young, she went to Germany and was part of an ice hockey event. There, just one team was dominating making all the goals, while the other one was struggling hard to make one. The audience, without doubt, backed the winning team encouraging it for its splendid performance.

However, Indira Gandhi went against the public opinion and clapped for the losing team as a sign of encouragement when they made the slightest attempt to make a goal. Despite critical glances, she continued to back them.

Drawing a moral from the story, probably directing to the people of UP, Rahul said, "Our party backs and supports the weak and I hail you not to get stubbed by one force, no matter how big it may be.Stand and make your presence felt,".

Alas ? When Rahul will learn to find the hidden but crucial moral from the story : that these innocent  and poor Dalits  were used in past by the Congress and will also be used in future ; this crying foul  about  the weaker team of Dalits is a time tasted ploy, it only suits to their vote bank politics during election. Rest of the time nobody cares for them.

Or will  Rahul answer why these Dalits on, whose plight you are shedding crocodile tears now,  are in such miserable condition? Even seven decades after the independence, out of which the same Congress has ruled for more than six decades, and see what you have done to them ?

When the political leaders will understand that people have not taken birth in free India, just to eat "dolled out meals two times a day" in various food schemes ? They also need "other bare facilities" or at least "minimum necessities of life to survive"  and "live with dignity" .
