The grand Delhi rally of PM aspirant Narendra Modi was seemed to be decorated with the sprinkling of heads sporting skull caps among the large gathering of people.It looked like those were strategically placed behind the line of media crews positioned in front of the stage set up for to catch a glimpse of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. The party estimated a target of 25000 Muslims attended the mega rally, here the figures were not important but the attempt to showcase the minority presence at the rally was obviously raised two questions.
Though the leaders were flushed with theory "that every leader who aspires to be a national leader needs the Muslim vote. The purpose of such rallies is to bring out the truth and expose the propaganda,”. But their actions reflect that it is a new development and not an universal fact. BJP needs more explanation at top level and reconciliation of the theme among the supporters and people at large for the long time benefit of the nation.
India Honest argues : BJP's ad hock efforts will be fused into a self defeating project, without any proper rebuttal of the propaganda, that had been carried out for years by the opponents. Why the reforming national party of "NDA fame", that had ruled the nation for the golden five years with an bigger alliance of 24 different parties, is falling in line with the blame game, where the opponents are always cunningly projecting the suspicion, "there is a trust deficit among minorities for BJP in general and Modi in particular".
Is this not a judgement error on the part of campaign managers, who are not sensing the voluntary change in hearts of the minorities towards the reforming and dynamic Nrendra Modi in his new avatar ?
The projection and indulgence in such debates of "skull caps" creates unwanted doubt in the minds of moderate minorities, who are otherwise constantly provoked in the communal divide by the so called secular masterminds, just to drive them away during the election time from bigger issues : like lack of growth in economy, huge rise in consumer inflation, lack of new employment opportunities and rampant corruption in high ups.
It is a truth and confirmed fact that the minority equally needs development for their upliftment and living with dignity in the society. One BJP minority cell member seemed assured of the opportunity when he said , ‘Voting for Modi will bring the development of Gujarat to Delhi, the youth want the opportunity to work. They are educated but don’t have jobs. The Congress party is not giving youth economic opportunities. Our hope from Modi is jobs for the youth, lower prices, a better life.”
Why a development and good governance tuned Modi needs window dressing of Muslims ? Why the party should not move with "the base idea of unity", the need of the hour ?
