Congress rallies, specifically in involving Rahul Gandhi had become a big headache for the Congress state campaign teams. As most of the candidates didn’t want them for fear of wasting time and money on a counterproductive activity, with the headcount at most of them had been gone from low to worst, when in the last week at Manmohan Singh’s rally in the capital city of Jaipur only 1000 people were visible out of that only cops in plain clothes and the Congress candidates stayed back to hear the PM.
Naturally the high command was furious and both the senior leaders, Joshi and Gurudas Kamat were slammed by the high command after the disastrous performance in the state capital. The humiliation was pinching and the party worked hard to bring crowds for this Monday’s rally at Jodhpur,that is also the hometown of chief minister Gehlot, and the venue was close to an area with a large population of minority voters, among others .
More than 1000 buses were sent to nearby and far flung towns and villages to ensure a full-house for Rahul. While each candidate in the region was assigned a target, with the warning that poor performance will not be tolerated. According to reports available to the local press and villagers, all the NREGA benefit earning workers and the women employed at all the Aanganwadi centres were instructed strictly to report and were brought to the venue not only from Jodhpur but also from neighbouring districts.
It was to show case higher presence of women, special attention was paid by the women’s wing after instructions from the high command that it should look ‘packed’, they planned the efficient use of Aaganwadi staff , who were paid by the state exchequer, and it was decided to use such working women for the rally in huge numbers, and it worked wonder. The crowd at Jodhpur was satisfactory, with lot of all expenses paid women folk were seen to be present in bright, colourful traditional wear. And it was the last wonder, all of them stayed back till the Rahul’s performance on the stage, as their return conveyance was fixed in the control of the Congress organisers.
Rahul Gandhi was also enthusiastic , having found a new speech writer, that made him switch to change his focus,much different than what was seen in earlier election rallies. Rahul seemed to be changing, as he spoke like a person eager to erase memories of his earlier speeches. Yes everything else was new except the word ‘Bhaiyya’ , which he said more than ten times. Rahul’s latest speechwriter seems to be borrowing contents from newspapers instead of history books. Tutored by new coach Rahul spoke on contemporary issues and controversies, talked about the Gehlot government’s performance and also slammed Raje, inventing her to be corrupt and arrogant.
Senior leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and RPN Singh have taken charge, as fire fighter in the last moments and the campaign now looks better organised, but it came out to be too late and too little.It was equally regretted by the Congress workers, as they said, this could have been done earlier, but offered to be jokingly hopeful that if continued it will work for the Lok Sabha election, or at best it will be an advance preparation for the polls in 2018.
HONEST INDIA accepts, after all we have found a capable and visionary leader in Rahul Gandhi, who forced present Congress team under his command, to think and plan for better utilisation of the huge revenue, that is wasted on the NREGA workers,those sitting idle are better used enhancing their productivity by at least assembling in the rally.
Yes, but it is shameful, how the Congress organiser team emptied all the Aaganwadi workers from their centres for attending the rally, by that risking the lives of hundreds of the emergency women patients, located in far flung villages for the entire day ?
