Showing recognition to proud Indians, is one of the best act BJP party has done by offering ticket to former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly to contest the general elections next year. Whether Sourav Ganguly accepts this or not is not that much a big point, than the thought that political and national leaders regard those persons who love the nation, those who are proud of being Indian first, and those who demonstrate in the acts their dedication, zeal, efforts for bringing, for uplifting proudness for India, are accepted to lead at national/political level.
BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has promised to make the Bengal/India's sports icon, the sports minister in the Cabinet if the party comes to power.The gesture is bigger, as it shows we recognise Ganguli's dedication for the nation, as he amply demonstrated, while captaining cricket team India, time and again. Ganguli is the only senior cricketer of that high stature, who worked much harder for the team India, even neglecting his commercial interest, which many other did not , when on the high, and this we patriot Indians love most.
Ganguly was quoted as saying in a leading Bengali daily,"Yes, I've an offer. But I'm still undecided on what to do. I've been busy for last few days... I'll let you know soon," .
The speculation has been doing rounds after he met Varun Gandhi through a common friend in the capital in mid November. Varun, the national general secretary of BJP, is also the observer for West Bengal.
INDIA HONEST proudly acknowledges that if Sourabh accepts this offer and hopefully win the election, it will be bigger victory of nationalism,patriotism and sports,yes it will be also a political victory , but of lesser importance. It will be a win for Proud Indians, simultaneously it will be a win for BJP and its leader Modi.
