Finance Minister P Chidambaram , while addressing students of Shri Ram College of Commerce,Delhi said the country can grow at a sustained rate of 8-9 percent annually over the next 10-30 years. He reasoned,India has some advantages, like the fact 68 % of population are below 35 years, reserves of virtually all minerals, large land mass and long coastline.
India, which in Congress first journey in 2004 started with above 8% in 2004, has now slipped to below 4% in 2014. INDIA HONEST simply asks the Finance Minister P Chidambaram, what has changed in between these ten years, except that India lost money and investor's confidence due to the huge scams and policy paralysis.
Chidambaram also expressed the optimism that India could become the third largest economy by 2030 (in terms of purchasing power parity) and along with China, the two major global powers by 2050.He said growth is the only way to produce goods and services in the country.
Chidambaram said,"We must be passionately devoted to growth and the corollary is anything that comes in the way of growth must be stoutly opposed," .INDIA HONEST laughs heartily, what a joke ?
The Finance Minster argued that officially there are only 42,800 people in the whole country who admitted that they had annual income of Rs 1 crore, but he admitted and said,"I think we can find 42,800 people with income of one crore in South Delhi alone. Now what does it means. It means that we are deceiving the state, we are deceiving the people of India, we are not willing to pay our taxes,"
Mr Chidambaram, whom you are accusing for such grave anomalies, when your own government had been in power in last one decade ? Are you admitting that as your own ministers had been rampantly indulged in huge corruption scams worth more than lakhs of crores of rupees, you lost moral right to catch this ? As you admitted that,"If everybody pay taxes, the government will have more money to invest which in turn will lead to growth and that there is rampant dishonesty in the society and at some point dishonesty becomes corruption".
INDIA HONEST surprises, how a Congress minister Mr.Chidambaram shamelessly dares to reveal all these facts "When there is rampant dishonesty, there will be rampant corruption," at the fag end of his tenure, when members of his own party themselves are the biggest culprits ? What moral right you have got to sermon the students, what you never followed ?
