Arvind Kejriwal and Yogendra Yadav of Aam Admi Party and Union Minister Kapil Sibal of the Congress party have called for an investigation into the matter related to swiftly rising graph of Narendra Modi, apparently by manipulation in the opinion poll, that also compared to the practice of “paid-news, manufactured to serve vested interests”,and asked the Election Commission to urgently step in.
The Election Commission had written to the Centre in November 2013, before the Assembly poll to enact a law banning opinion polls once elections are announced. Fifteen political parties including the Congress, JD (U), SP, BSP, DMK and AIDMK, in response to views sought by the Election Commission, had favoured the ban.
But the exceptional one among the parties was the AAP,whose tall leader Yogendra Yadav, who had been in this opinion poll survey business for last few decades, and who had trusted on the survey that has been conducted only by their own captive opinion poll organisation, and that had given them a huge lead over majority in Delhi poll.
But that was incidentally in contrast to other contemporary leading opinion poll makers, who were reluctant to black out Congress then . How people of Delhi or India can forget the highly publicised press conference of AAP in Delhi on the eve of election, where both Arvind and Yogendra Yadav minutely explained the modes, how the opinion poll makers conduct the opinion poll, and justified the rational in giving so many seats to their own party, the newcomer AAP. Yes that survey proved reasonably satisfactory in its ultimate outcome.
Then here is a twist,it is only yesterday when Arvind has accepted in the news media that there is a wave running in favour of Modi in the country, but how come, only on the next day the rising graph of Modi in the opinion poll has become suspect to a possible result of manipulation. Here INDIA HONEST put his foot down and questions,"Why there Can't be a Fake Sting Operation, If Stakes are High and Price is Paid " ?
Without arguing or challenging the veracity of the above sting operation, one can obviously reason one logical point that why the whole drama of sting or manipulation should be trusted when anything can be managed with a higher price-tag, when party leaders opt to blame/accept that the persons in such reputed opinion-poll maker organisations are willing to be sold.
Congress and its allies have justifiably taken exception to alleged manipulation of opinion poll results by leading agencies, but why AAP, whose stake are much limited this time, has joined hands with the band waggon of the frustrated on the lurking defeat , the group of Congress and associates. AAP's joining hands with Congress on opinion polls smells a bad taste in mouth, when compared to their earlier stance on opinion poll before the last assembly election.
