How Legend journalist Vinod Mehta took deep pain in heart to unite the two major communities ?

Legend journalist Vinod Mehta took deep pain in heart on the prospect of a positive change in the next election in 2014 as he expressed his views on Modi. He said, "As a journalist I have to read the writing on the wall. It says in capital letters: Narendra Modi will lead an NDA government on May 16. The permutations and combinations of how this is achieved need not detain us. It will take divine intervention to stop him being crowned.

He added, "I can think of four main misgivings concerning our prospective prime minister : First, he is a deeply polarising figure. You love him or you loathe him. No in-between position exists. His opponents maintain he will destroy the idea of India and promote a majoritarian agenda. New York Times noted, “India is a country with multiple religions, more than a dozen major languages and numerous ethnic groups. Mr Modi cannot hope to lead effectively if he inspires fear and antipathy among many of its citizens.”

The paper’s verdict is hard to refute. Nonetheless, to see him as some Chaplaincies Great Dictator is over the top. Such an impulse probably comes to him congenitally but it is unlikely to be top of his mind when he is sworn-in. If nothing else, Modi has a sharp sense of self-preservation. This may persuade him on the need to wear the Vajpayee mantle.

Second, minorities, particularly Muslims, will not be safe under his rule. Modi is committed to shredding the secular fabric. Remember, he has yet to apologise ( Vinod has bigger grudge on this ?) or express regret for 2002. We have a population of 170 million Muslims; 169 million tremble at his name. His behaviour post-2002 in Gujarat is hardly reassuring."

INDIA HONEST has the least of surprises to learn of  the inherent anguish in the heart of the old and deserted journalist cum hardcore Congressman Vinod Mehta had,  on the changeover in political status in the next two months in India. Vinod sir cannot resist his deep love for Gandhi family, while even Sonia Gandhi has understood the futility of crossing swords on Modi for 2002 riots.

But Mehta chooses to remind all the sleeping opponents that : "still Modi has not apologised". It was more like announcing in hindsight that, what a gross mistake Modi has done by applying for the visa without obtaining a passport, so he will be disqualified from winning the election .

Great Oldi Vinod sir , IH praise your sense of humour, when you certify the exact quantity, that out of 170 millions Muslims only "one" million love Modi.

Hats off to such noble legend journalist Vinod Mehta, who endeavoured so hard to stitch the bondage of love between the two major communities by pushing his pen in spreading the message of unity, which even the most crooked communal political leaders never dared to do .

History must remember the journalist Vinod Mehta, close in the league of other national leaders like Toghadia or Obassi, who gave their lives to unite the two major communities of this great nation of unity in diversity .
