Our Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid had said “the court by rejecting the indictment has given you an opportunity to put it behind us so why are we not putting it behind us… They should find a political solution.
The second indictment on former Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade , yesterday, came a day after a US court dismissed an earlier indictment. The frustrated and defeated Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid now said, "Even at the worst time, I made repeated statements that although it is extremely irksome what has happened and we are convinced that what has happened is wrong and it should not be taken any further, nevertheless this should not impact our larger relationship. But there are practical considerations".
INDIA HONEST notes with pinch of salt that our wise and influential Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid observed that “overall it has an effect and there was very deep sense of hurt here”, as the minister added, “We cannot look unconcerned when something like this happens. We have to balance practical implications with our commitment to keep our relationship intact and in fact, enhance it,” .
The second set back to our foreign policy came when an Italian judge has rejected a request by India to recover more than 278 million euros (Rs. 2364 crore) in bank guarantees backing a scrapped helicopter deal with Finmeccanica., the Italian defence group .
India had earlier cancelled the 560 million-euro order with Finmeccanica unit AgustaWestland for 12 top-end helicopters in January, citing a breach of integrity relating to alleged corruption. The ruling by a Milan court in favour of AgustaWestland confirms a temporary freeze decided by the same court in January, while INDIA HONEST noted with pinch of salt that our defence minister is rejoicing to know the fact that the New Delhi government can still appeal against it.
In another instance where our foreign credibility is tasted, the Indian attorney general, Ghoolam Vahanvati, told the supreme court that the prosecution did not intend to proceed against Massimiliano and Salvatore under the anti-piracy section of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts. He gave no reason.
Italy's involvement in such incident is probably not for the first time, when they shot and killed citizens from Third World countries.
Italy had strongly opposed India invoking the law, arguing that it would amount to treating the men as terrorists and last week it recalled its ambassador to Delhi in protest against the delay in the two-year-old case. India has dropped a plan to prosecute two Italian marines accused of killing two Indian fishermen.
The honest and strong Defence Minister AK Antony had said there was no question of any compromise with regard to the case relating to the two Italian marines who had allegedly shot dead two Indian fishermen. He thundered,"Government policy is that as per Indian rules the case will go ahead. There will be no compromise. We are not going back in any way in the case. We are going ahead with the case as per Indian laws," .
INDIA HONEST now wish to go international where the Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier accused the West of driving Ukraine into "anarchy" and warned Russia will reserve all rights to protect citizens in the eastern part of the country.
Moscow has defended a military takeover of the majority ethnic Russian Crimea by citing a right to protect “peaceful citizens”. Ukraine’s interim government has mobilised troops to defend against an invasion of its eastern mainland, where pro-Russian protesters have been involved in deadly clashes in recent days.
While the latest developments says that Crimea’s Moscow-backed leaders declared a 96% vote in favour of quitting Ukraine and annexation by Russia in a referendum, which the Western powers shouted as illegal and threatened to bring immediate sanctions.
While pushing back the Western threat the state media in Russia carried a startling reminder of its power to turn the United States to “radioactive ash”, in spite of the President Barack Obama threat to the Russian president Vladimir Putin, that US and its European allies were ready to impose “additional costs” on Moscow for violating Ukraine’s territory.
INDIA HONEST warns the people of India of playing with the inherent danger and risk to the national security and interest, which they are carrying by electing and selecting a dumb and numb Prime Minister, instead of selecting a proactive , strong, nationalistic , courageous Prime minister (like the President Putin of Russia),one who is more willing to stand eyeball to eyeball on the international forum, when the need arises to safeguard national interest.
INDIA HONEST asks the people do we need a prime minister whose one important cabinet member the Defence Minster, who is more then eager to protect the enemy soldiers who kills our soldiers brutally by cutting their head, by saying that they were unknown terrorists in the disguise, and not the Pakistani soldiers.
Any party, any leadership which wants to save its skin or its political interest first rather then choosing to fight the enemies , such a leadership , which runs first in bunkers for safety when their soldiers are fighting in open and in urgent need of moral support in the battle field, the people must have the first option to throw such selfish coward on the very first opportunity in the high sees of the Bay of Bengal".
The "honesty" certificate holding defence minister must join Arvind Kejariwal & coterie as their prize collection, the nation and patriotic people need only the Generals, who have guts to fight with the establishment as well with the enemies of nation to make our army, navy, air force more strong, by taking care of their arms, ammunition and sophistication needs urgently .
