Communal Tension Raising its Head in Most Sensitive State Uttar Pradesh

The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a curfew in Muzaffarnagar, where six people have been killed and more 34 are injured in communal clashes in  the area. 

A freelance journalist associated with IBN7 Rajesh Verma was shot dead in the Kotwali police station area while in another incident  a photographer was mercilecly beaten to death in Thana Sikhera area when he was covering the clashes as his professional duty.

Tension in the district started on the August 27 many senior officer along with five companies each from the PAC and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed in the area. ADG Law and Order of the state Arun Kumar confirmed the death while assuring that the situation is under control.  Curfew has been imposed in 3 police station areas, as the situation is tense. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that the incidents of clashes unfortunate but the culprits will not be spared. We have given order to take strict action if required. Curfew has also been imposed in certain places. I appeal to the people to maintain peace & do not believe in rumours. Action will be taken against those who try to disturb the peace & order,". The state has sincerely fulfilled its noble duty and obligation as the state government announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the family of the deceased.

More specific details are bound  to be censored to calm down the tension, but still the political leadership of all political parties must work for bringing the peace fast in the trouble torn area,as flaring ccommunal tension resulting in violence has become much frequent event in most sensitive state  of Uttar Pradesh.
