Will Tamil Political Leaders explain, how Protesting Helps the Cause of Tamils in Srilanka ?

BJP  decided to invite all the top heads of SAARC nations, and it is  regarded as a bold and great attempt to smoothen relations with all the strategically located neighbouring countrtes and that include the nation of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Srilanka also .

This decision to invite Sri Lanka President Mahindra Rajapaksa for the swearing-in ceremony of PM-elect Narendra Modi has angered the BJP's allies in Tamil Nadu including MDMK general secretary Vaiko, who condemned the invitation.

Vaiko said in his statement, " Even for the swearing-in of the previous NDA governments in 1998 and 1999 and UPA governments in 2004 and 2009, the Sri Lankan president was not invited. The BJP should take this into consideration. The news has come as a jolt,".

IH says, but at that time in 1998 or 99, the prime minister of Pakistan and Bangladesh were also not invited . Moreover the unique step this time is to all national heads of all the SAARC nations without any regard to the cordiality of our relations with these nations.

Tamilaruvi Manian argued and said, "We are terribly shocked. The red carpet welcome accorded to Rajapaksa has wounded the feelings of over seven crore Tamils living in Tamil Nadu. We have worked for the alliance formation ourselves and Vaiko had even told BJP president Rajnath Singh and other party leaders BJP president Rajnath Singh and other party leaders that the new government led by Modi should not do anything which insults and angers the Tamils living throughout the world. The Congress was wiped out in Tamil Nadu because of its insensitive Sri Lankan policy and massive corruption. If the BJP government continues to behave like this then it will also face the same fate as such of the Congress",.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalithaa has not reacted so far on this issue. A section of BJP leadership in the state strongly feels that Jayalalithaa may not attend the swearing-in ceremony.

INDIA HONEST,while respecting the views and concerns of our Tamil political leaders, questions very sincerely that, "will anyone of the above leaders explain, how such show of anger and enmity to a nation of several crores Srilankans and Tamils, helps in the resolution of the problems related to the Tamils in Srilanka.

Yes creation of national and international pressure on the cause of Tamils in Srilanka will help to some extent in raising the issue in different international forums, but will it help in solving or resolving the problem of Tamils in real time basis is much doubtful ? It is a fact that only meaningful discussion and engagement between the concerned persons can solve the issue.

IH  says very much ironically that the political leaders everywhere, be it the Pakistani leaders, shouting for Kashmiris or the Tamil leaders fighting for Srilankan Tamils, only aggravates the plight of their concerned people and yes much shamefully it helps the leaders in their hinterland votes bank, nothing more in real sense to the cause of the distressed people .

Should we fight within Indian land in this way for the cause of Srilankan Tamils with another sovereign nation and their leaders , is a question these leaders must answer ? And should we build or destroy our international relations with a close neighbour, only because we may not win local election in Tamilnadu ? How winning election is more important than helping those Tamils through peaceful discussion and negotiation ?
