Since last February when Modi made his first visit to Kolkata, a debate is going in political circle that if this Modi vs Mamata exchange will impact the existing electoral equation in Bengal ? The question was raised from only one angle that how Modi's Bengal thrust will impact the political will effect the political party's relations with the minority voters ?
Nobody in the political circle is worried if Modi will effect cut in Bengal's 70% majority voters. Everyone was worried not to get anyway linked to Modi, moreover every political leader was willing to curse Modi hard to maintain a distance from Modi, just to garner bigger support from the minority vote bank.
INDIA HONEST wonders , what sort of democracy we are promoting in this part of Eastern India, particularly in Bengal ? For heaven's sake, if Modi somehow wins this election, and that implies NDA must be getting anywhere between 250 to 300 seats, and that implies 40 to 50 % share of Indian people's votes. What does that mean in politics of Bengal,by remaining aloof from that party and person's policies ?
If it mean that any political leader could be ignored, distanced or even hated by the other political parties only for the sake of securing their share in 25 to 30% of the minority votes ? Does not it prove that even an ideology, policies accepted by a big chunk of people in India, may be by the 100 to 110 crore majority voters, will not be acceptable to the political leaders in Bengal, only because they oppose the leader personally ?
Even does not it mean that the wishes and voices of "majority voters" in Bengal have no value among these political parties ? Are the majority voters so marginalised in this minority vote bank politics in Bengal that nobody is concerned about everything else ? If unemployment, price rise, lack of economic growth, lack of security, lack of health services, good education or even loss of people's savings in Sharada like scams etc., does not affect the entire population majority or minority ?
IH is seriously concerned on the narrow minded, selfish ideology of entire political setup in Bengal, when they are more concerned, either to retain or grab power only by hook or crook . People centric problems are out from the political discussion arena ; none is worried about industrial or financial revival of Bengal and it's economy.
Nobody is concerned or talking about what financial package people shall demand as commitment from the next central government . It is mockery of election or selection of people's representative in Loksabha, where nobody is talking of the issues, but only concerned on minority vote bank politics and that is a bad omen for people of Bengal.
BJP state president Rahul Sinha sees no design to any of this, when he summarised ans said,“The Left is fighting an existential crisis and the Trinamool is fighting a future threat given its own misgoverning. People of Bengal are not just voting for a Modi government at the Centre but also see the BJP as a viable alternative for 2016,”.
IH predicts a future vision, while not exactly echoing to tne wishes of Rahul Sinha, but at the time drawing a warning to the minority vote biased political leadership that everything has a limit, as you are basically not doing any favour to the innocent minority by creating artificial fear, while ignoring the basic needs of society of both the minority and majority. Moreover you cannot take for granted the majority people for a long time and 2016 is not far.
